| Abstract:
A thermo-conducting putty with stable plasticity developed by a
Polish research team perfectly conducts heat during heating (or
cooling) of equipment. The putty's good adherence and plasticity
allow a large range of temperatures in order to get a good filling
between the heating elements and apparatus or fittings. Its
thermo-resistance to temperatures up to 220°C makes it possible to
use different heating liquids or steam. Partners from the chemical
industry are welcomed. |
| Description:
A Polish research team developed a thermo-conducting putty with
stable plasticity that perfectly conducts heat during heating (or
cooling) of pipelines, apparatus, measuring and other equipment. The
putty is characterised by the properties described below: -
Thermo-resistance: from -30°C to +220°C - Workability: good in
the whole range of temperatures - Ductility: good in the whole
range of temperatures - Flowability: good in the whole range of
temperatures - Adherence: good in the whole range of
temperatures - Density: 1.85 ¹ 0.1 g/cm3 - Reaction: neutral
- Thermal conductance: 8 ÷ 13 W/mK - Oil evolution
susceptibility: negative - Chemical resistance: resistant to
bases and dilute acids An ideal distribution of heat by the
putty prevents the crystallization of substances inside pipelines,
measuring equipment, apparatus and pumps.
Innovative
Aspects: The application of the thermo-conducting putty prevents
local overheating of media inside reactors and pipelines. A system
of heating using the putty allows: - Decrease of material
consumption and production costs of apparatus by diminution of
apparatus wall thickness and by elimination of heating jackets -
Efficient heating of apparatus or devices with complicated shapes
- Diminution of time-constant for temperature control equipment
Main Advantages: The application of putty with stable
plasticity assures: - Good heat exchange, fast reception of
required temperature and uniform heat distribution without local
overheating - Facilitation of apparatus repair and shortening of
assembling time - Possibility of putty re-use |
