| Abstract:
A Polish company has developed a variable-speed transmission gear
for variable change of rotational speed. This gear consists of a
system of at least three mate gears. The central gear is a bevel
gear that has the form of a prolate cone frustum, on which surface
teeth of a special configuration are distributed in a way that
enables them to mate with two analogical bevel gears for drive
transmission. The company is open to all cooperation types with
industrial or research partners. |
| Description:
A Polish company has developed a variable-speed transmission gear
for variable change of rotational speed that consists of a system of
at least three mate gears. The transmission gear is the central one
and has the form of a prolate cone frustum, on which surface gears
of a special configuration are distributed. Their configuration
changes in a way that is described by relevant mathematical
equations. This enables the gears transmitting the drive to mate
correctly on any arbitrary orbit of the central bevel gear, thus
enabling a variable change of rotational speed. A model of such a
special gear has been made on a machine tool (milling machine) with
numerical control and five degrees of freedom.
Innovative
Aspects: Contrary to the variable-speed transmission gears known
so far (gyroscope, hydraulic, friction, controlled by current of
stepwise changing intensity or voltage), this gear enables
variable-speed change of rotational speed by means of the mate gears
only, thus giving better efficiency in high-duty operation.
Main Advantages: - High efficiency of variable-speed
(stepless) change of rotational speed in high-duty operation -
Acceleration at constant driving force and savings in energy, e.g.
fuel - Possibility to design and construct a compact
differential mechanism |
