| Description:
A Polish research team is offering a new concept for the
automatic positioning of the load (container) with simultaneous
damping of the load swinging after the starting and braking period
without using any mechanical damping devices and feedback from load
oscillation. The essence of the handling technology is starting and
braking of the overhead or jib crane mechanisms according to the
parameters determined by the onboard computer's optimal control
function. This function brings elimination of the load oscillation
after the starting, during the steady motion and after the braking
periods. The simultaneous positioning of the crane and load in a
required point is possible. During the travelling motion the
friction of the wheel flanges on the overhead crane is limited to a
minimum. The operator of the machine has only an automatic control
supervision function. The automatic control is equipped with a
system for simultaneous compensation of the wind's disturbance for
outdoors operating cranes. Semiautomatic control is possible as
well. In this case the operator enters the load positioning into the
board computer and starts the system. The shift to manual operation
is possible every time and the starting and braking can be helped
automatically for elimination of the load oscillation after the
starting and braking. The technology has been tested at the
laboratory's overhead crane. The software was designed on an
entirely original basis while making use of typical microprocessor
systems.
Innovative Aspects: - Automatic damping of the
load (container) swinging after the starting and braking periods by
optimal control function without using any mechanical damping
devices, with simultaneous positioning of the load and compensation
of the wind's disturbance. - Compensation of the wind's
disturbance simultaneously with load positioning system. -
Limitation of the wheel flange friction on the crane's travelling
mechanism. - Shortest way and time for load transportation by
different wind conditions. - Best possible usage of hoisting
winches power. - Limitation of the dynamic overloads.
Main Advantages: - Automatic or semiautomatic - Safe
handling of the load transport (container) - Shortest handling
way and time |

Comments First of all they are looking for
industrial or manager partners who would be ready to use the
technology for automation of handling of the cranes by modernised
drives supplied by frequency converters and controlled by using
microprocessors. In their opinion there is a very wide international
market for this technology. It includes the industrial centres
handling materials and using technological transportation. All of
the firms building the cranes and drive and control systems are
potential customers for worked out technology. The Team is
interested in co-operation with scientific departments in Europe for
development of the technology in the frame of VI European Programme
as well. |
