| Abstract:
A Polish research team has developed a new monitoring system. The
SWUT system allows on-line monitoring of conveyor belts defects
during operation. In a belt control circuits and transponders are
implemented. Along a conveyor the measuring device, information
concentrators and power supply units are placed. The system signals
sudden damaged in belt. They are looking for partners for wide
co-operation. |
| Description:
The belt conveyor defects detecting system developed by Polish
researchers monitors continuity of the control circuits being
implanted in the belt, as well as temperature rises of mechanical
elements of the conveyor's structure. On the basis of such metering
both the type of defects and their positions along the whole length
of the belt can be identified. The systems applied up to now enabled
monitoring defects within a selected part of the belt. The
elements: - Control circuits and transponders implemented in the
belt - Transmitter signal senders and receivers operated with
belt control circuits - Transponder readers - Microprocessor
controllers for data collection - Central station for processing
and visualisation of collected information This system may be
used in the mining and steel industry sectors, as well as in other
manufacturing plants with extended belt conveyor transport systems.
Innovative Aspects: On-line monitoring of belt condition
and immediate shutdown in case of belt defects
Main
Advantages: The system is adapted to operating underground in
mines; immediate detection of belt damage and conveyor shutdown
allow minimising economical losses. |
