| Abstract:
A Polish research team has developed a new integrated
transmission system. ZIST is designed as an intelligent concentrator
of communication and data acquisition devices. Underground stations
enable to connect underground devices like: telephones, signallers,
detectors and others. Construction of the system is modular and
allows easy extension and operation in various configurations. They
are looking for partners interested in co-operation. |
| Description:
The ZIST system consists of two functional parts: surface station
SP-ZIST and underground station SD-ZIST. Underground stations
perform signal concentration from many underground devices like:
phones, alarm-broadcasting signalling devices, detectors and others
(both analogue and digital). The signals from these devices are
converted into digital PCM (pulse-code modulation) stream. After
concentration signals are transmitted by digital modems with
high-capacity range HDSL (high-bit-rate digital subscriber line),
MDSL (medium-bit-rate digital subscriber line) or by fibre optics
(FoDSL (fibre-optical digital subscriber line)) to the surface
station, which is the interface to the other communication or
visualisation systems. The ZIST system ensures many configurations
and a high security level (module redundancy, multiway
transmission). The ZIST is an autonomic system equipped with
buffered power supply, which ensures power supply of remote devices
connected to the system.
Innovative Aspects: -
Full-duplex digital data transmission allows to achieve high noise
immunity and low distortion - Flexibility of integration with
other devices and systems - High capacity of the system makes
easy extension and operation in various configurations possible
- Simple construction results in easy and maintenance-free
operation
Main Advantages: - High flexibility and
functionality - Feature enhancement of existing underground
communication networks |
