| Description:
A small Polish IT company developed an intelligent Internet search technology. It consists of:
- Crawler Technology - highly customised crawler technology is able to acquire data from virtually any site on the Internet. With minimum human help it collects and inserts the data into a database. It is the core element of any intelligent search solutions.
- Language Recognition Classification Technology helps with the right classification of the acquired data. Combined, both solutions enable building a new generation of Internet search sites. So far the company implemented this technology in the first comparison-shopping site in Poland.
The technology enables to extract from any HTML (hypertext mark-up language) document the information one needs. The technology includes a parser that can process almost any kind of tags-based text. While XML (extended modelling language) parsers require input text to be well-formed and meet special standards, this software can parse even malformed HTML. It is possible to use the technology to extract from the Web almost any data: to retrieve dynamically current stock quotes, latest news, current weather, current prices, and more.
Innovative Aspects:
Any existing comparison-shopping or intelligent search solution based on crawler technology needs a certain degree of human control. The point is to minimise human help. The most innovative aspect of the technology is the minimum amount of human intervention thanks to the usage of artificial intelligence in the process of site parsing and classification.
Main Advantages:
- High level of accuracy in the searching process
- Low operating cost (it is not necessary to hire many specialists to operate for example a comparison-shopping portal)
- Low hardware requirements
- Cheapest solution able to build any comparison-shopping sites or any portals, which are fed with data collected all over the Web
- Software can properly work with different languages
