Technology Transfer Centre is an unit of the Cracow University of
Technology (CUT).
CUT is a medium size university with the academic staff of 1050 and c.
18000 students (including 200 Ph.D.) enrolled in various degree courses.
CUT's technological expertise includes civil, structural, mechanical,
transport, chemical, electrical, computer and environmental engineering.
CUT has been the host institution for FEMIRC, for the IRC South Poland
coordinator and for the Regional Contact Point for FP5/FP6 (RCP).
RCP and IRC South Poland operate within created in 2001 Technology
Transfer Center (TTC CUT) which includes also a Patent and IPR section.
Regional authorities invited CUT recently to coordinate the Regional
Innovation Strategy what accentuates its unique position within the
region as regards innovation and research issues.
TTC CUT has staff of 12 people and collaborates with a number of regional
and national experts.
TTC CUT is the leading center in Southern Poland as regards EU RTD FPs and
transnational technology and innovation transfer. It coordinates as
mentioned above the IRC South Poland and the Regional Contact Point for
EU RTD programmes.
The mission of TTC CUT is also to facilitate contacts between academia,
industry and regional development stakeholders, to facilitate creation
of start-ups, to promote university entrepreneurship.
In May 2003 after the accreditation audit the TTC CUT has become the
member of National System of Services for SMEs (KSU) run by the Polish
Agency for Entrepreneurship Development and Ministry for Economy.
It is involved in preparation of National System of Innovation (KSI).
In January 2004 in the first call of Polish Agency for Enterpreneurship
Development TTC CUT has been selected as one of the first 9 institutions
in Poland to be admitted to an accreditation audit for National System
for Innovation. From October 2004 TCC CUT has ISO EN 9001:2000 certified
quality system.
In March 2003 TTC CUT has been selected out from 120 competitors as a
Polish partner institution in the EC G2G initiative for financing
innovation.
Within the Regional Innovation Strategy project (2003-2004) TTC CUT is
responsible for setting the rules for cooperation rather than competition
of numerous business and innovation support institutions.
TTC CUT has built a data base of nearly 5 000 clients interested in
international RTD and technology transfer. Nearly 2000 from that are SMEs.
Circa 2000 people per year come to info-days, workshops and meetings
organized by CTT CUT. TTC CUT has wide experience in coordinating and
running EU projects targeted at SMEs and regional innovation issues.
The visibility of TTC CUT on the regional and on the national level is
quite high.
