The REGinNET project addresses two groups of partners from Accession Candidate Countries, New Member States and Old Member States, therefore the influence of the SSA project will have different, particular effect on each of the group.
General impact of the project: to create a longer lasting cooperation network to increase the participation of scientific community and companies in FP6, build links among partners from ACC, NMS and MS and thereby facilitate a creation of the European Research Area.
The aim of the project will be to exchange best practices and create a learning community (proposal preparation, data bases, partner search, organization of info-days. etc., project monitoring, cost statement preparation).
Through the staff exchange partners from the ACC and NMS are expected to concentrate their efforts on active partner search to find partners from their regions to propose them to the FP6 proposals that will be submitted by coordinators from Member States and to look for partners that are required by them.
The impact on Associated Candidate Countries and New Member States regions.
We expect at least 100 participants at each Information Day which makes 1300 (25 % will be SMEs) but also a number of contacts during brokerage events and partners found during fellowships in Member States NCPs and support organisations. Research institutions and companies from each region will have a direct access to the information, consultancy and partner search. The impact would be an increased number of proposals with partners served by the REGinNET network.
The impact on Member States partners
The REGinNET project will provide the participating National Contact Points from Member States with a tight network of Contact Points in the Candidate Countries and New Member States. This will offer new opportunities for extending project consortia and involve new partners in EU projects.
Member States NCPs will benefit from regional contact points strengthening the intra-country network in the Candidate Countries and New Member States through the cooperation with other regional institutions, playing a role of multipliers eg. regional agencies for industrial development, centres of excellence etc. The REGinNET project support guaranties multiplying the effect and results of the activities and widening the area of disseminating the results through the local and regional points.
Impact on SMEs
SMEs from ACC and NMS encouraged to participate in the activities implemented under the priority thematic areas Environment, Transport, Nanotechnologies, Energy within NoEs, IPs, and specific targeted research projects.
Regional contact points will be responsible to contact the agencies for SMEs development and other multipliers in those countries having in mind extension of the network for the future opportunities within the FP European Research Area. The aim is to have at least 25 % of SMEs out of participants during Regional Information Days.
The types of activities in REGinNET are scheduled to assist the SMEs and researchers in networking, focused on incorporation in the projects consortia and facilitate their performance throughout the span of the project.
